$4.4 Million European-Inspired Kentucky Mansion With Enormous Private Pond Is Redefining Luxury Living in the Bluegrass State

In an affluent Kentucky town lies an 18-acre property that is redefining what luxury means in the Bluegrass State—while offering a touch of European elegance to the heart of the South.

Located in the aptly named town of Prospect, the estate sits on a very exclusive stretch called Wolf Pen Lane, where it quickly stands out as one of the area’s most opulent dwellings.

To set foot inside the extraordinary 13,000-square-foot mansion is to be transported straight to Europe; its columned entryways, hand-painted ceilings, and custom mural inlays are more reminiscent of a grand Italian villa than a Kentucky abode.

Now that slice of Sicilian heaven is on the market for the first time in its 17-year history, with an asking price of $4.39 million. Some might see that as a low sum for such a lofty lifestyle.

“Step inside a residence where artistry, design, and luxury meet,” the listing urges. “Every detail of this home has been thoughtfully curated with rare materials, custom finishes, and elegant features that make it one-of-a-kind.”

Built in 2008 by its current and only owners, the six-bedroom property was designed as a love letter to enduring artistry, says listing agent Dee Amber Anderson of Lenihan Sotheby’s International Realty.

“This property embodies resort-style living right at home, and every day feels like a retreat,” Anderson notes.

Part of that sentiment comes from the level of craftsmanship inherent in the home, something not often found in today’s market, especially in a suburban community in north-central Kentucky.

“A rare opportunity to own one of Prospect’s most distinguished estates,” the description says of the home. “Set on over 18 acres of pristine grounds, this nearly 13,000-square-foot residence blends timeless European-inspired design with modern luxury, creating a home that is as breathtaking as it is functional.”

The property dazzles from the moment you step inside, with Italian marble floors and a hand-crafted mural inlaid with semiprecious stones setting the tone in the grand foyer.

In the adjacent living room, a soaring Austrian crystal chandelier commands attention, while a nearby study with custom, two-story built-in bookcases invites quiet reflection.

Even as its design channels classic European elegance, the home has evolved gracefully to meet modern expectations.

“This is the first time it’s been on the market since it was custom built,” says Anderson. “But there’s still a lot of upgrades that went into it.”

These include new kitchen appliances, updated HVAC units, a new pool pump, and a new septic system. The result is a home that is as effortlessly comfortable as it is beautiful. And the attention to detail throughout is nothing short of remarkable.

Brazilian cherry flooring, granite and marble finishes, a backlit slab of onyx in the family room, and solid mahogany doors that complement iron railings and barrel ceilings all contribute to the home’s lavish environment. Yet for all its interior splendor, the property’s true magic unfolds outdoors.

The estate’s expansive grounds include a sparkling pool with waterfall, a private tennis court, and a 2-acre pond complete with fountains and its own waterfall feature. A private dock extends out to a unique round house that sits at the center of the pond.

At the heart of that structure, residents will find a sizable stone fireplace and ornate metal chimney, with benches and a bar helping to turn the space into a cozy area for hosting guests.

For equestrian enthusiasts, an eight-stall horse barn offers an uncommon amenity within such close proximity to downtown conveniences.

“Just minutes from Prospect’s shops, Norton Commons, and amazing restaurants, it’s perfectly positioned for anyone seeking both sophistication and convenience,” says Anderson.
