“Members Only: Palm Beach” star Hilary Musser is working on a new TV project that could incorporate the area’s luxury real estate—and says she would also serve as a producer.

While the future of the Netflix hit remains uncertain, Musser says she is already pursuing another opportunity, with casting among the steps she is working on.

“I’m working on a different show right now,” she says. It’s a project “where I would also be a producer.”

Musser is keeping most of the details private for now. She says the network has not been determined, but the Palm Beach County setting could provide an opening to feature the industry in which she has built her business.

“In Palm Beach County, we’re famous for our real estate,” she says.

However, she does not envision creating a series focused entirely on property. Instead, she says real estate could be one element of a broader concept.

The project comes as Musser considers what she wants to do following her appearance on “Members Only: Palm Beach.” The series has not been canceled nor renewed.

“It doesn’t really matter to me if the show gets renewed,” she says.

Her introduction to that series came through fellow cast member Taja Abitbol, whom she met while serving on a fundraising committee.

During a cocktail party, Abitbol asked whether she would be interested in interviewing for a TV show about country club life in Palm Beach.

Musser agreed, having previously passed on other opportunities to appear on camera.

She says she was approached about a Palm Beach housewives show in 2005, but declined after being filmed because she worried about the potential impact on her marriage and young son.

This time, she decided to embrace the opportunity.

During filming, Musser says she did not prepare dialogue or attempt to adopt a different personality. With a real estate business to consider, she wanted to present herself as she normally would.

“I didn’t prepare what I was going to say,” she says.

Alongside her TV appearance, Musser was also working on a waterfront spec home that she says was completed in June and is now offered for $42.5 million.

The property is a development she built to sell. Separately, she describes her personal home as smaller but similarly finished.

According to Musser, the spec home sits along the Intracoastal Waterway, across from the Palm Beach property being developed by billionaire Ken Griffin.

Inside, she says the emphasis is on distinctive finishes and an uncompromising approach to quality, with leather-wrapped refrigerator handles, leather-lined kitchen drawers, Italian marble, and a separate chef’s kitchen.

“Every door is 12 feet high,” she says.

For Musser, those details reflect what she believes wealthy buyers want: a property that offers something different from other luxury homes, with spaces that provide their own reasons to stay in.

She describes a dining room that forms part of the wine room, along with a kitchen, living room, and theater that each deliver a different experience.

“Every room is a destination,” she says. “A place where you can go and enjoy your friends and your family.”

Her own lifestyle helps guide those decisions. Rather than approaching a development solely as something to sell, she considers whether she would enjoy living there herself.

“And I build every house as if I’m going to live in it,” she says.

Musser initially obtained her real estate license to improve her access to properties for her development business.

She felt desirable opportunities were being claimed before reaching the market and wanted to put herself in a better position to find them.

After working with a friend for a couple of years, she earned her broker’s license. Representing clients was not originally the goal, but requests from people in her community led her to begin showing and listing homes.

She says her real estate business’ gross revenue quadrupled last year, and she regards her TV experience as a success from a business perspective.

Now, she is also pursuing brand partnerships, merchandising, social media opportunities, and a book she says she had wanted to work on since before the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The show has just opened up some new doors for me,” she says.

Still, the work behind her property business remains far less glamorous than the waterfront homes might suggest. Musser points to negotiating contracts, preparing properties for showings, following up with agents, and waiting for the right buyer.

“You wish you could just produce a buyer when you want one,” she says. “But it doesn’t work like that.”
