A tree-lined retreat nestled beneath a “canopy of magnificent mature oaks,” featuring illuminated pathways, has recently hit the market in Topanga, CA, for $2.4 million.

Built in 1935, the “thoughtfully cared for” 1,547-square-foot sanctuary boasts stone pathways, footbridges, and a seasonal creek. It is located in the Post Office Tract near Topanga State Park.

“What makes this property so special is its setting within a private oak grove,” says listing agent Nina Kurtz of Compass. “It genuinely feels like having your own private park.”

That private-park feel extends across the compound, which includes a two-bedroom primary residence and additional living space.

According to public records, the four-bedroom property is currently owned by Hollywood writer and producer Andrew Guest, co-creator, showrunner, and executive producer of Marvel’s “Wonder Man.” Guest purchased the property for $2.75 million in 2022.

Expansive windows were designed to frame the lushly landscaped lot and bring the outdoors into the living spaces.

“Properties like this rarely come along,” Kurtz notes. “The opportunity to have an entire compound nestled beneath these majestic oaks, yet still so close to Los Angeles, is pretty magical.”

Also found on the nearly 1-acre private property are a one-bedroom cottage, a barn, and a 1970s geodesic dome, which was transformed into a contemporary art gallery in 2024.

The dome structure has geometric-style windows, an additional kitchen, and expansive space that could be used as additional guest accommodations. An enormous wraparound deck was designed for soaking in the peaceful views.

“You’re right next to Topanga State Park, with incredible access to hiking trails, sweeping ocean views, and spectacular sunsets,” Kurtz adds.

“Yet once you’re on the property, you feel completely tucked away from the outside world, as though you’ve entered a little universe of your own. And when the sun goes down and the twinkle lights come on beneath the oak canopy, the entire place transforms. It almost feels like a portal to another world.”
