Builders FirstSource has named Gayatri Narayan as president of technology and digital solutions, a newly created executive position that underscores the company’s aggressive push into ecommerce and digital transformation.

Gayatri Narayan, president of technology and digital solutions, Builders FirstSource
Builders FirstSource is one of the United States’ largest suppliers of building materials. Narayan will lead digital initiatives across the organization, including oversight of Paradigm, the company’s digital services subsidiary. She reports directly to CEO Dave Rush and is tasked with advancing Builders FirstSource’s goal of generating $1 billion in digital sales by 2026.
“Gayatri has a proven record of delivering organic growth through technology,” said Rush in a statement. “She will play a pivotal role in accelerating our execution and digital strategy to support the long-term success of our customers and our business.”
About Builders FirstSource’s new executive
Narayan has more than 20 years of experience in digital and enterprise technology leadership. She previously held senior roles at PepsiCo, where she drove digital product development across frontline sales, manufacturing, and revenue management. Prior to that, she was general manager at Microsoft, focusing on enterprise digital solutions in communications and conversational AI. At Amazon, she worked on global expansion, profitability, and market share growth through digitally enabled business models.
Her appointment comes as Builders FirstSource ramps up its ecommerce capabilities. The company’s digital platform, myBLDR.com, launched in February 2024. It has already surpassed $60 million in order volume, including $10 million in incremental sales in the first quarter of its rollout.
The investment in digital tools is part of a broader strategy to modernize the construction supply chain, improve customer experience, and drive organic growth in a fragmented and traditionally low-tech industry. The company operates in 43 states and has about 595 locations serving the professional market in residential construction and remodeling.
Tim Page, who previously served as executive vice president of digital solutions, will transition to a strategic project management role and work closely with Narayan to ensure continuity.
Narayan’s hiring reflects growing momentum among building materials companies to invest in ecommerce and digital operations amid rising customer expectations and increasing competition from tech-savvy players.
