Stepping into the spotlight for the first time, “Selling The OC” star Fiona Belle is opening up about the nerves she felt filming the hit Netflix series—and the unexpected castmate who quickly became “family” along the way.
Although the 24-year-old appears confident as she lands multimillion-dollar deals and walks luxury clients through major listings, she has now confessed that the experience was initially overwhelming.
Speaking exclusively to Realtor.com®, Belle revealed that being the youngest in the room—and not knowing many of her co-stars—made stepping in front of the camera much more difficult than it appeared on-screen.
“I honestly had never thought about the show. It wasn’t something I ever asked for—it kind of just came to me,” Belle said, speaking about how she landed a spot on the series.
“I had no idea what to expect. I remember doing the first interview and just being so nervous because I’d never done anything like that before. I had to tell myself, ‘Fiona, you have to speak—say something.’ I just didn’t know what to do at first.”
However, she found comfort in co-star Alex Hall, whom she now considers “family.” The pair quickly formed a bond that extended far beyond filming, with Belle describing their connection as effortless and deeply supportive.
“I’m really grateful for our relationship. She’s become one of my best friends—it just feels like family,” she said.
Belle also credited Hall with helping her navigate both the pressures of reality TV and the competitive world of luxury real estate, and described her as a “mentor.”
“We have similar personality types in all the best ways, and then we’re different in other ways where we complement each other,” said Belle.
“She can be a little more stern if I’m a little less stern. That’s what I need in friendships and relationships to grow from. Our friendship really developed more outside of the show. Having that shared experience brought us closer.
“She was definitely a mentor to me. Especially being new to the area and navigating luxury listings. I was grateful to have her there to guide me.”

Although Belle formed a genuine friendship with Hall, not every dynamic unfolded as smoothly on screen.
Addressing the tension viewers saw between her and co-star Ashtyn Zerboni, Belle said their relationship hasn’t progressed since filming wrapped.
“Pretty much everything that you guys saw in the show is where it’s left off—that’s kind of been the end of it,” she said. “You know, I hope maybe in the future, one day, there can be more of a relationship, but it’s pretty much everything you guys saw.”
Belle added that she and Zerboni knew each other only slightly before filming.
“I met her, like, once before, but I’d never worked with her before in the office. So just kind of, you know, in passing, but there was no previous relationship between us that was close,” she said.

But, beyond the friendships and growing pains, the 24-year-old said that appearing on the Netflix series had a positive impact on her career.
“It has changed in a very positive way. My career has definitely taken a turn in the best way,” she said.
“I’ve had a lot more opportunities and a lot more people that have either recognized me from the show, or whatever it is, have seen my past or recent sales that choose to work with me, which I’m very grateful for.”
Since appearing on the show, Belle has received increased recognition, new business opportunities, and a wave of support from viewers who discovered her through the series.
“It’s so weird seeing my name, my face on TikTok, or even just the comments on my Instagram,” she said. “I’m really happy with the feedback that I’ve gotten from people.
“There’s a lot of people that have reached out to me—young women—saying that I’ve inspired them to get into real estate. The fact that it’s made other people feel heard or seen makes it feel all worth it to me.”

The exposure has elevated her experience working in luxury real estate, bringing in new clients and expanding her reach across both Orange County and San Diego.
“Overall, I would say it’s a very positive experience, and I’m really glad that I had the opportunity to make a difference to people.
“Whenever I help a client get into their home, it always feels like a high. It will never get old handing someone the keys to their new house,” Belle explained.
Although Netflix has yet to reveal whether “Selling The OC” will return for a fifth season, Belle hasn’t ruled out another chapter.
“I think so, but we’ll just have to find out. I would say I’m looking forward to the homes that the viewers would get to see that we’ve closed recently. All the new, beautiful listings in Orange County—they keep getting better and better.”
