This happened to me [again] in a recent client meeting.
I was there attending a client meeting with my supporting team member. This is a meeting for us to meet a new joiner in my client’s finance team. To me, this is a simple meet-and-greet session.
Haha, well.
This new joiner, Simone [fake name], is out to prove her mettle. She started the meeting with a complete disregard for meeting formalities.
No greetings. No introductions. No hellos.
Never mind that she is speaking to a co-founder of an outsourcing company.
Never mind that her boss, the financial controller, was on the call.
Simone immediately flashed a Word document on her shared screen and went through [line by line] the tasks and activities that were done and not done by my team member. She quickly pivoted to the topic I hated most.
“I need to delegate some simple tasks to her. I need her to work on tax computation and filing and perform transaction checks in the system on a dormant entity.”
