Costco is taking its Uber Eats delivery partnership nationwide, expanding from 17 states to nearly 600 warehouse locations across all 47 states where the retailer operates.

Instacart remains a major delivery partner and continues to power several of Costco’s delivery experiences. But now the warehouse retailer is continuing to broaden its delivery network for last-mile and same-day service.

In Costco’s fiscal Q2 2026 earnings call in March, chief financial officer Gary Millerchip noted that same-day delivery through Instacart, Uber Eats and DoorDash was growing faster than overall Costco digital sales, which themselves were up 22.6% year over year.

Costco is No. 7 in the Top 2000 Database. The database is Digital Commerce 360’s ranking of the largest online retailers in North America by their annual ecommerce sales. It’s also the fourth-largest Mass Merchant in the database.

Details of Costco’s Uber Eats expansion

Through the expanded partnership, Costco’s full warehouse inventory is available for delivery through Uber Eats. Members enter their Costco membership number in the Uber Eats app to shop, then choose between on-demand and scheduled delivery.

The two companies are also adding cross-promotional benefits designed to deepen the relationship between their respective membership programs. Costco members can receive 50% off an annual Uber One membership during their first year, followed by 20% off in subsequent years. Uber One benefits include no delivery fee, savings on rides and delivery orders, and member-only promotions.

Uber and Uber Eats gift cards are also available at Costco locations and on Costco.com for a discount, and consumers can purchase a Costco membership directly through Uber Eats and save 30% on their first order.

“We are thrilled to expand our partnership with Costco nationwide, giving Costco members more ways to shop and bringing the brand’s storied selection and value to more consumers,” said Andrew Macdonald, President and Chief Operating Officer at Uber.

“Costco is one of the largest and most trusted retailers in the country for good reason, and our nationwide partnership demonstrates the scale and opportunity Uber can bring to retailers looking to meet more of consumers’ everyday shopping needs,” Macdonald added.

What is Costco’s multi-partner delivery strategy?

Same-day delivery has become a point of pride for Costco.

“Same-day delivery powered by our third-party partners has become a highly effective way to deliver more convenience to our members,” Costco CEO Ron Vachris told investors during a May earnings call.

He added that average same-day delivery time in the US is now 45 minutes, with an average customer satisfaction rating of 4.8 out of 5.

“This part of our business is growing at an even faster rate than our digital business overall,” Vachris continued. “And is a strong driver of loyalty, as it is often our highest spending members who are using the service.”

Meanwhile, Instacart remains an integrated partner for Costco. Instacart’s Storefront Pro commerce platform and fulfillment solutions power Costco’s same-day delivery websites in France and Spain, where it launched in January.

Costco members in France and Spain can shop directly through Costco’s websites, rather than through the Instacart app.

Internationally, Uber Eats already has a significant partnership with Costco. Hundreds of Costco locations are available on Uber Eats across Canada, France, Japan, Spain, Taiwan and Mexico.
