AC Milan star and U.S. Men’s National Team captain Christian Pulisic may have quit his home nation to pursue his soccer career in Europe, but he settled right back into life stateside when he led his team to its first victory in the FIFA World Cup.

Pulisic, 27, has become the face of American soccer over the last decade, having made a sensational debut in the USMNT in 2016, when he became the youngest American to play in a World Cup qualifying game.

His prowess on the soccer field over the years has even helped to earn him the nickname “Captain America,” which fans could be heard chanting as he helped the U.S. team to claim a 4-1 victory over Paraguay in its opening game of the World Cup tournament, which was held in Inglewood, CA.

Pulisic will next take to the world stage in Seattle, where the USMNT will face Australia—a team that also won its debut World Cup game.

While he is arguably the most recognizable U.S. player, the soccer pro got his start on the international stage thousands of miles away from his hometown of Hershey, PA, when he joined German club Borussia Dortmund, where he became one of the youngest Americans ever to play and score in the European country’s Bundesliga.

His rapid rise continued on the other side of the pond, where he enjoyed a successful stint at British soccer club Chelsea, before moving to Italy, where he plays for AC Milan.

But Pulisic has always maintained a home base in the U.S., even as he pursued his career overseas—snapping up a dwelling in Florida for $1.8 million in 2020 that still serves as his primary residence whenever he is in the U.S. during the offseason.

While much of Pulisic’s year is spent competing in Europe, he returns to his Jupiter dwelling—which is now worth an estimated $3.8 million—whenever his schedule allows.

The four-bedroom house offers an idyllic escape from the pressures of professional soccer, featuring luxury amenities including a swimming pool, boat dock, and putting green.

Though it was built in 1981, the property, which Pulisic purchased via an LLC, has undergone several significant upgrades over the years to give it a much more modern feel.

But with the World Cup underway and the hopes of a nation resting on his shoulders, Captain America has little time to enjoy the Sunshine State lifestyle.

Instead, the USMNT captain remains focused on helping the United States make a deep tournament run—and further cementing his legacy as one of the greatest players in American soccer history.

As captain, Pulisic has become the centerpiece of what many consider the most talented squad in U.S. soccer history, one that is expected to go further than any of its predecessors.

The responsibility has only grown with the 2026 World Cup taking place on home soil, where expectations are higher than ever for the Americans to make a deep tournament run.

Pulisic entered the tournament carrying enormous expectations, and he wasted little time delivering.

The United States opened its World Cup campaign with a dominant 4-1 victory over Paraguay, with the captain helping spark the attack as the Americans announced themselves as serious contenders.

After making his national team debut at just 17 years old, Pulisic quickly established himself as one of the program’s most important players, helping guide the United States back to the World Cup following its shocking failure to qualify in 2018.

His leadership on and off the field eventually led to him being named USMNT captain, a role he has embraced while becoming one of the most accomplished players in the program’s history.

However, the victory was not without a brief scare. Pulisic was substituted at halftime after taking a kick to his calf, prompting concerns about his availability moving forward.

Fortunately for U.S. supporters, both the player and coaching staff indicated the move was precautionary, with Pulisic expected to be fit for the team’s next match. The player helped to further calm fans’ fears over the weekend, when he was seen relaxing with his teammates in California, while watching the New York Knicks claim victory in the NBA championships.

But, there is little time for Pulisic to rest.

That next challenge comes on June 19, when the United States faces Australia in what could prove to be one of the most important matches of its World Cup campaign.

Both teams opened Group D with victories, setting up a showdown between the group’s early front-runners.

A win would move the Americans to six points and place them in a commanding position to secure a spot in the knockout rounds before their final group-stage match against Turkey.

The matchup also presents an opportunity for the United States to build on the momentum generated by its dominant opening performance against Paraguay.

With Australia coming off a convincing victory of its own, the contest is expected to be the toughest test yet for Pulisic and his teammates.

Should the Americans emerge victorious, they would take a significant step toward achieving the kind of World Cup success that has long eluded the program.

All eyes will be on Pulisic as he attempts to lead the United States through the tournament. For now, though, the Florida home that serves as his American retreat will remain empty while the soccer superstar focuses on the biggest challenge of his career.
